Right now, Hurricane Irene is supposed to slam the area.  Come on Mother Nature, first an earthquake, and now a Hurricane?  You are being downright cruel to citizens that live in the East Coast/Northeast.  I’m pretty sure that the West Coast never had an earthquake and a hurricane within 7 days apart from each other.  I think that Momma Nature should go underground, get married to Hades, then die in a pool of spirits (note Hercules reference); while the Devil belongs next to God in Heaven right now.

Now, i’m waiting til my mom gets back from food shopping (I bet must of the shelves would be empty) and going to buy some items I need, plus some beer.

I am psyched for the rest of the week.  Tomorrow night, i’m going to feed my grandfather a hamburger and a hot dog (yes, he eats the same thing every wednesday).  While my dad and I are at my grandfather’s/his father’s house, we also get to see the Devils kick some Maple Leaf butts!  Thursday, i’m going to an event at the Rock to get some autographs!

As for Friday… Lets forget about the Rebecca Black “Friday” crap and go back to being thankful that friday’s coming.

Great win against Tampa and Detroit.  First off, I was born in Chicago (I occassionally root for the Blackhawks), and I can’t stand Detroit.  I hate Detroit as much as Philly and New York (not the cities, but the sports teams).  I…I mean i’ve never been to Detroit but I hate their sports teams, you get the picture?  Captain Clutch (aka Jamie Langenbrunner) struck again on Friday, scoring the winning goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning with what was it?  38.1 seconds left of regulation, Jamie deflected a wrist shot off Andy Greene.  I went to the game last night, when the Devils honored the 1995 Stanley Cup team (back in 95, the Devils won the Cup the same week when my family and I moved from Short Hills to Summit).  Patty Elias came in the clutch with the shootout winner against the Red Wings.  For some reason, overtimes and shootouts makes me nervous.  I like shootouts, no reason to be playing 5 OTs when it’s not even playoffs time.

B. TIGER WOODS

Know something funny?  I actually have a cousin named Elin.  Call me stupid, but I nearly mistakened Tiger’s wife for my cousin.  I was watching the news sometime last week and the headline was “Should Elin Stand By Tiger?”  And I was like, “WHAT?  Why would Cousin Elin stand near a tiger in the first place?”  In reality, my cousin is like a tiger because she’s a nasty biter.  Once, she bit her sister, Carina, for no reason, Carina started crying, loudly, and I mean really loud!  Elin got a spanky (my cousin, not Tiger’s wife) and a 10 minute timeout in the playpen.  Carina and Elin were screaming so loud that if anyone was in the shower, they would hear the loud crying coming from the kitchen.  Loud enough to keep me flinching for a good two minutes.

Back to Tiger, it depends on how many stupid things that would drive his wife over the brink.  I used to read UsWeekly frequently, but not anymore.  In case you don’t know, keep in mind that UsWeekly is full of rumors and lies.  He should take Jeter’s advice: STAY SINGLE!  You gotta be willing to make the commitment.  You don’t want to cheat on your wife, if the kids are young, they will be probably be clueless as to what’s going on with their parents.

C. CHRISTMAS

As of right now, my Mom hasn’t started the Christmas cards nor her shopping.  The other day, my brother actually complained to me that she’s got bad time management.  Know what?  She does.  Most Christmases, i’m usually the one taking out the Christmas decorations while she’s doing the cards.  Half the time, she doesn’t like how I arrange everything, so she rearranges everything on Christmas Eve.  Give me a break lady!

I am looking forward to Christmas.  Today, my dad and I were supposed to help my grandfather get his tree.  For some reason, that’s going to wait until next weekend, I believe.

When i’m able to live in my own place, look forward to seeing a fake tree (I don’t like the idea of dragging a real Christmas tree through an apartment building, that would be a big mess) with Yankees ornaments, and Devils ornaments as well.  The unbreakable kinds, ones that aren’t made of glass.  I hate cleaning, so the last thing I want to do is cleaning up a broken ornament.

I’m hearing a weird thing about Christmas this year at Pa’s…it may not be as big as the Christmases in the past.  Doesn’t any of the Sullivans have the SLIGHTEST F***IN CLUE that they never gave us any birthday presents this year?  Or do I recall getting any birthday presents from any of the Sullivans last year?  NO?  They’re trying to shrink us from celebrating Christmas like our birthdays.  One thing they don’t realize: this Christmas would be exactly 6 months since we buried Nan.  So it may not be the right time, but they also got to realize that less then half of us are at the age of 10 and under.  Or what I should say half of us are 13 and under…since 13 year olds still expect a lot of presents?  Am I right?

Because of Nan’s death, I half expected to not get that many this year for my birthday, but if our dads (and Aunt Mariellen) make Christmas boring this year, not only Nan would haunt them for life, but I probably will miss out this year.  Neither of my parents know that, but i’m leaning towards that.  It could be a last minute decision.

The only kid, Isabel, got a present from me this year.  And I don’t mean to be rude, but I have a weird feeling that I will be the only person from the Sullivan side to get Carina something for her birthday.  I’m sorry my Mom’s been slacking off on her birthday phone calls, i’m already tired of reminding her all the time.  What do I look like?  A giant post-it?  My brother, Jack, and I had a looooong conversation about it last night.  We’re getting sick of being slacked off on our birthdays (for about 3-5 years in a row, only my Mom’s side of the family has gotten us birthday presents, us referring to my brother, my sister, and I).  One thing, we’re thinking of ganging up some people and, it may not be the right holiday/time: laying down the law on Christmas.  I may be too old, but my birthday and Christmas are my two favorite times of the year, but i’m getting damned sick of being slacked off on my birthday!  Next year, i’ll be 21, so there’s no way that the Sullivan side of the family will SLACK OFF ON THAT!

My dad doesn’t know, but i’m also thinking about moving out of the house before New Years since i’m going back to school in January.  Yes, a cousin sleepover in my future apartment (just as long as we’re not too loud).  I’m planning on moving closer to the City (and Pa’s).  Possibly to West Orange (the rent is cheaper there than it is in Summit). Last year, I felt cut off since I lived 15 minutes west from Summit, in Madison (it meant a longer drive to Pa’s).

If I move around Christmastime, i’ll just have to look forward to having a fake tree and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners alone crying my guts out.  Families don’t forget their nieces/nephews birthdays.  And what my parents/aunts/ uncles don’t know?  By teaching their kids/nieces/nephews forget birthdays.  That’s not good responsibility.  COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE!  And who knows?  Someone like Carina might be TAUGHT to forget her nieces/nephews birthdays when she’s older.

(And i’m drawing the line about me moving out of the house tomorrow, I just can’t take it anymore, not only my parents and siblings are annoying me, but the crazy housecleaner keeps rearranging my stuff and my hockey puck collection when she comes on Mondays.  Just good luck living with only two cars soon.  Too bad, I won’t be around to bail you out when it snows.  They’ve already gotten on my last nerve, which is “the last straw that broke the camel’s back.”  I might risk getting coal for Christmas, but I need a break.)

PS To my cousins, should I edit this, print this out, and read it to my Dad and Mom? Knock some sense in them?  I may do as something simple as forgetting a doctor’s appointment because my Mom forgot to REMIND me, but what my Mom’s been doing lately definitely draws the line.  Ever since last year, not only she started forgetting birthdays, but she didn’t do the Christmas cards until the week before Christmas (she’s heading in that direction again, geez).  My Mom has to learn that someday I won’t be living in the same house anymore and i’m d***ed sick of being told I need to print out the labels, stamp the cards, etc, etc. She’s fallen behind on her Christmas shopping already and what my parents are doing is WRONG, DUMB, and STUPID.  I may risk getting grounded and kicked out of the house, but i’m 20 and too old to get grounded.  Another thing: $20 joke presents for people in my Mom’s side of the family?  Is she kidding me?  What’s next?  Nothing but coal and fart machines for everybody on Christmas?  Where’s jolly old St Nick?  WE NEED HIM! Come to Hilltopper Country PRONTO!

Oh, and Summit won the state championship!  Since when they go from the 0-10 team almost all four years of my high school years and be undefeated 12-0 and champs this year?  Did I miss something?

THE YANKEES WINNING THEIR 27th WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!  I happen to be the only Yankee fan living in my household, my relatives and friends up here in…*cough* Red Sox  *cough* territory *cough* aka Massachusetts have all been congratulating me and hugging me.

I didn’t think of this yesterday but the thing that i’m NOT thankful for is the Devils’ loooooooooooong IR list…and add David Clarkson to that today.  You don’t want to block a 100+ mph shot coming from a Bruin defenseman who’s 6’9″, Zdeno Chara.

I went to the TD Banknorth Garden earlier today.  It was epic.  I was my first time going to the Garden (and remember that i’m near Boston, in Wellesley right now, not New Jersey, where the Madison Square Garden is referred to as the Garden there).  The Bruins’ goal horn/song was da**ed deafening loud, louder than the Flyers’ goal horn/song!

I’m sorry to say that I witnessed Clarkie’s injury, ouch.  That’s gotta hurt real bad.  You could tell that it was his ankle because he couldn’t skate, he crawled to the bench, and got pulled off and dragged down the runway by the trainers.  Get better soon Clarkie!  When I saw him get pulled off the ice at the gate next to Danis, I said out loud, “Jesus Christ,” my dad heard me and noticed.  He was…or I should say… we were thinking, “Oh geez, not again.  Not another injury.  Here we go again.”

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A HEALTHY DEVILS’ ROSTER!

I have a bunch of stuff on my list, but my main thing, only God can do that, a injury-free roster for the rest of the season.  I have a question to ask: i’m asking for a white Devils’ away jersey for Christmas, should I get a Bergfors jersey or a Zajac jersey?  I already have a red Parise jersey.

Thank goodness, tomorrow, i’m going home (back to where the real sports fan lives, referring to me).  Back to Jersey.  I might be shopping, my friends leave to go back to school (for another two weeks, until Christmas) on Sunday.  My Turkey Day decorations will be put away tomorrow night, and my Christmas decorations come out (yes, I decorate for Christmas early).  I might wait to do the Christmas decorations, because I might move out of the house before Christmas (I am making my return “back to school, back to school, to prove my dad that i’m not a fool” in January) and I can’t stand living at home any longer.

I promised to blog last night but I started watching a movie after the Devils game ended and I lost track of the time.  In fact, I watched two and next thing I knew, it was 3:30 in the morning.  Oops.

I know that the Devils are giving the “kids” a chance to play, but the fans are probably sick of hearing about the injured list and are plugging their ears during parts of the pregame show.  I do.

I’m going to put up another post later.  The 1st intermission show is on, and i’m getting distracted.

LET’S GO DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!  Please win this game!

First off…a big, hearty, and belated CONGRATULATIONS to the New York Yankees (and to my fellow Yankee fans) on winning (and for us fans, celebrating) their 27th World Series Championship.  Let’s go for numba 28 next year!  HOW’S THAT???  Good thing for me: next summer, I turn 21 so you better win the 28th so I can be able to go to a bar and enjoy myself.

And…the Devils won their 8th consecutive road game.  They’re now 8-0 on the road since the season started a month ago.

What’s funny is that the Devils won on wednesday night (I was at the game), the Yankees won the World Series shortly after that same night, I went to the parade on friday ( it was AWESOME!!!!!), the Devils won on friday night, and they won earlier against the Senators.

I went to my first baseball game when I was a month old, my parents were White Sox fans back then.  Now, they’re Mets (*cough* MUTS *cough*) fans, and i’m the only Yankee fan in the house.  My first parade (for any sporting event) was on friday, at the age of 20.

Now, about the parade, I sat on a rickety, wooden fence (that was made for conscruction and not a parade) for over a hour.  What’s funny is that there were LOADS of people either leaning against or sitting on the fence that was right next to me to my right, the fence collasped, my brother and I started cracking up as people standing on a van (that was on the street) starting the “LET’S GO YANKEES” chant.  Oh, and the train conductor was HILARIOUS on the way home, he said things like  “South Orange Orange Orange” and “Milllllllllburnnnnnnn” over the loudspeaker.

Not only I have a badly bruised shin, thanks to my brother, who’s a jealous Muts fan, and he kicked me.   My hips and thighs are just as sore as my shin.  Remember that I sat on a fence for a long time.  It’s hard to walk up and down the stairs, and I have trouble getting up (like getting off of a chair).  I can still drive so that’s good.  I hope that the soreness goes away in the next few days, if not, i’m in trouble.

Right now, i’m watching Hockey Night Live on MSG Plus.  I was forced to watch the Rangers game so I wouldn’t fall asleep, but they lost so i’m happy.  One topic that keeps coming up in the sport of hockey, is hits to the head.  I agree with what Dave Maloney (a former Rangers player) said a few weeks ago, a hit to the head should be a suspension.  I say that there are too many guys right that are forced to sit out because of a concussion.  What if we’re up to the point where every player is out because of a concussion?  Clean hits can be vicious hits, and dirty ones can be vicious as well.

I need to charge my laptop batteries now (its not plugged in) and get ready for tomorrow (i’m probably going to be visiting my grandfather).  My low battery signal came up just now…so…
